Room rental charge includes:
First 50 tables and 500 chairs; heating or air conditioning in all enclosed areas; general overhead illumination; house sound; normal clean-up (once per day); electrical usage (electrical drops, extension cords and power strips not included).
Deposits/Payments:
We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. Your final balance will be due 21 days prior to your event.
We accept VISA, Master Card, American Express and
Discover. A $25.00 return check fee will be applied for
all checks returned from the bank.
Catering:
Ranch Events is our exclusive, on-site caterer. No outside food or beverage is allowed in the facility.
If client on his or her own will, bring their own
refreshments or food onto the premises of the Scottish
Rite Event Center, a penalty charge of $5,000.00 will be
charged to the client. Please contact Charlie from Ranch Events at (858)
722-4264 for menus and pricing.
Move-In and Move-Out:
Actual move-in and move-out times are based on the contracted time of use. Access to the room is only guaranteed during rental times specified on the contract. Please allow for adequate set up and break down time.
Unloading and loading for the Corinthian Room will be done through the ramp located at the back of the building. The Golden Eagle Room has loading access at the Southwest corner of the building. Vendors must immediately move their vehicles out of the loading area once unloading/loading is completed. Loading carts are not allowed through the main front entrance under any circumstances.
Insurance:
Event Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 must be provided with the Scottish Rite Center listed as the additional insured. Coverage must be inclusive of all move-in and move-out dates and times. A copy of this Insurance Policy or Certificate of Insurance must be received not later than twenty-one (21) days prior to your event. Failure to provide the required insurance will in and of itself terminates your contract and forfeits all deposits.
Cancellations:
Should written notice of cancellation of this rental agreement be received by the lessor more than sixty (60) days prior to the beginning of the rental term, any deposit will be refunded in full. Should a written notice of cancellation be received less than sixty (60) days but more then twenty-one (21) days prior to the beginning of the rental period the deposit is non-refundable. Should a written notice of cancellation be received less than twenty-one (21) days before the event all funds paid will be applied to the balance due of the rental amount, plus any charges incurred in the lessee's behalf.
Parking:
We do offer free parking on a first come, first serve basis. There are approximately 400 parking spaces in our lot with some additional street parking. Parking is NOT guaranteed. We do occasionally have access to overflow parking in neighboring lots depending on availability.
Any unauthorized vehicle parked in spaces designed as
"Reserved" or "No Parking" will be ticketed and/or
towed.
Security:
All events that will be serving alcohol are required to have one security officer per 50 guests. A licensed, bonded security firm will be contracted by the Scottish Rite
Event Center on your behalf. Each officer is billed at $19/hour with a four (4) hour minimum as well as one supervisor per 100 guests at $21/hour with a four (4) hour minimum. Full payment for security will be due twenty-one (21) days prior to your event. Any additional hours required may be extended up to 8 hours at regular time. Any time over 8 hours may be billed at the time and a half rate of $28.50/$31.50 an hour. We recognize the following holidays as paid holidays New Years Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. At the rate of $19 an hour rate holidays would be paid at $28.50 per hour and at the rate of $21 and hour rate would be paid at $31.50 per hour.
*At the discretion of the Scottish Rite Event
Management, certain events without alcohol may be
required to purchase security.
Alcohol:
All events serving alcohol are required to sign
a Alcoholic Beverages Addendum to Rental Agreement..
Clients could be charged an assessment for extra
clean up should over consumption of alcohol lead to
abuse of the facility or inappropriate behavior.
Permits/Licensing:
(If the event)
requires permit(s) it is the responsibility of the
client to contact the San Diego Fire Marshal's Office.

All permits required by the City, County
or State must be received in the Scottish Rite Event Center
office not later than twenty one (21) days prior to the
beginning of the rental term. Failure to do so will
permit the lessor, at its option, to terminate this
rental agreement.
Advertising:
In any advertising you may use, please make sure to list your contact information for those who would like additional information on your event. Please do not use the phone number for the Scottish Rite
Event Center. For directions to our facility please call (619) 297-0397 and then press option "4", or visit our website
at www.sdeventscenter.com.
Advertising on our illuminated sign
(upper marquee) is available at $50
per day. There are 18 characters per line with a maximum
of 4 lines. Your event is on a continuous cycle and will
display for 5 seconds in rotation with other events.
This is required by the California Highway Patrol and
CalTrans, due to the location of the sign and the Interstate.
The Scottish
Rite Event Center also offers advertising space under
the illuminated sign. You may place banners and/or signs
in the (lower marquee) area, at $75 per day. The size of
your banners or signs will determine the allotted amount
that can be placed in this area.
Clients may
bring flyers, advertising their events, into the
building for display. Client must provide a brochure /
flyer (8x12 or smaller) display holder, and remove the
holder promptly the day of the event.
Placing signage
on the fence facing Camino Del Rio South / Interstate 8,
is allowed at $25 per sign per event.
Deliveries/Shipping:
The Scottish Rite Event Center does not have extra storage. Therefore, any packages that are sent to our facility are temporarily stored in
our small rooms. Please make sure that all packages are clearly marked with your event and contact name or they may not be accepted. The Sales Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Packages will only be accepted during business hours.
This service is available for a minimal fee.
Office Supplies:
The Scottish Rite Event Center does not have an
onsite office supply department. Please be prepared to
bring any office equipment essentials to your meeting or
special event.
The Sales Office will make copies for a charge of .10
per copy. (100 minimum)
Video
Surveillance Recovery:
In the event User or Licensor determines that
proof of circumstances is needed, a service charge will
apply to the User at a rate of $125.00 per hour.
Event
Listing:
All booked events, unless booked and finalized
within 30 days of the event date, will be listed on our
Website, Facebook page and phone listing.
